I see reference in John Moore’s Dec 2010 post, to Richard Richmond’s Lyons’ letter. Please forward my email to Richard or Diane Haskins. I am a Lyons descendant and have much info concerning:
Lyons, Polk, Bolton, Rogers, Gardiner and other Irish families from NewBoyne, Portland and Newboro. Thank you for your hard work on this wonderful site.

The maiden name of John Lyons’ wife, Martha, is important to the biography of him I am writing. The letter on this site from Richard Richmond mentions it twice, but I can’t ‘decode’ it. At first glance it might in both cases be Crossbee, but the last few letters of it don’t match with the rest of Mr. Richmond’s writing. Can he or anyone else please put me out of my misery?

Looking to connect with Richard Richmond and Diane Haskins concerning the Lyons/Bolton families. I am trying to connect the various branches of Lyons from Newboyne/Portland/Newboro back to county Mayo Ireland. I am hoping that the letter mentioned will assist.

Wonderful suprise to find this section of your site!
Am not familiar with the letter mentioned. I do have other photos of the Bolton Cottage as well as extended family members.
I descend from the Lyons in Newboro. I would like to touch base with Richard and Diane. I am still trying to piece together all of the families that intermarried before/after immigrating from Mayo/Sligo Ireland.

William and Emily Bolton (mentioned in the caption of the phot of Helena Bolton-Lyons) are my great grandparents. Does anyone know what relationship Helena was to William?

I can’t see the photos or article either. Both would be very valuable to me, as I am writing a potted biography of Helena and John Lyons for the history of a Club they belonged to in Picton.
